Appointments

The Westminster diocese. with the full support of Inner London Education Authority has appointed Sinter Madeleine-Coclie Prendergast as a full-time Youth Officer for the East and the Central Pastoral Areas. Sister madeleine has been Development Officer for the Catholic Youth Service Council, and was instrumental in setting up a counselling centre for young people as part of the council's development project. This centre. in Fulham. The Lighthouse", is now part of the youth service of the diocese. Sister Madeleine will take up her appointment from September 1, 1978. and will be based at the new Diocesan Youth Office, 23 Kensington Square. W8

Cardinal Hume, during Mass in his own Chapel, last week conferred a Knighthood of St Gregory on Mr Henry Collins. chairman of the Society of St Augustine of Canterbury. The Cardnal said the society's great financial generosity to Archbishop's House had been a continual support over many years. Bishop Augustine Harris, Auxiliary of Liverpool, who is Mr Collins' brother-in-law, concelebrated with the Cardinal

The appointment of four Honorary Canons in Clifton Diocese has just been announced. They are Fr. Thorns. Morrissey, Ronald Macdonald, Gerold Whitten and &Ward McDonnell.
