Meetings That Cause Offence

Protests from many Catholic Labour members have been received on the subject of meetings, which that party is organising in certain parts of the country an the Spanish question.

We quote from a correspondent: " How can a Catholic continue to be a member of a political party who serve up full and Open assistance to the enemies of Christianity? "

Fascists and Workers

The text referred to is a letter sent out by the Borough Labour Party, apropos of a meeting to be held at Honor Oak Park, which reads: " Leslie Paul on 'The Causes of the

Civil War in Spain.' The mom will be decorated with coloured posters which have come from Spain—from the Ministry of Propaganda of the Valencia Government, from the Socialist Trade Unions,

and so on. Literature dealing with the Spanish conflict in all its aspects will be on sale.

" Help Spain's fight against Fascism by letting the public know that the Labour Party is active on behalf of the Spanish workers,"
