Mgr. Pizzardo at Beaumont

The Papal Envoy to the Coronation, Mgr. Pizzardo, with the Marchese Pacelli, and the Rev. Richard Birley, attaché to the Mission, paid a visit to Beaumont College on Monday afternoon. They were accompanied by the Earl of Ciranard and Captain Walter Legge, attached by His Majesty to the Papal Envoy.

The distinguished visitors were received by the Vice-Rector, the Rev. James Sharkey, Si., and the community, and then went by car to the cricket field, where they were given a rousing reception by the boys. After a few words of welcome from Fr. Sharkey, His Excellency addressed the boys. He spoke of their obvious loyalty; begged them to pray for the Holy Father and for his restoration to health, and urged them always to be loyal subjects of the Pope, as they were of His Majesty King George. On his return to the College, the Envoy spoke also to the boys of St. John's, the Preparatory School, who had come out to welcome him.
