PAPAL GIFT TO COWLEY

BISHOP BRIGHT, Auxiliary of Birmingham, blessed the new Salesian Church of Our Lady, Help of Christians. Hollow Way, Cowley, Oxford, last week. At the Pontifical High Mass, Bishop Bright wore a chasuble presented to the parish priest, Fr. T. McKenna, by Pope John.

The church. which has cost £45,000, seats 500 and is one of the largest in Oxford. It is situated almost opposite the Morris works. Archbishop Grimshaw of Birmingham is to administer Confirmation in the new church on Sunday.
