British prisoners are mentioned with small comment but great care is taken to set out the admirable record of the Turkish prisoners, none of whom collaborated and all of whom returned well disciplined when the war was done. Beside the Turkish record, the American performance looks discreditable. No effort is made to hide this unworthy slice of history and the undergraduates at Fairfield were studying it to see what could be done to improve morale.
