THIRT Y-S I X children will receive their first Holy Communion next Tuesday when Bishop Ellis of Nottingham is to celebrate Mass to mark the opening of a Community Centre in the newlyformed parish of Christ the King. Ma ckworth. Derbyshire.

The building, which will serve as a Mass centre, until a church and presbytery are built, and has been recognised by the local education authority as an extension to a primary school, in the neighbouring parish, has been designed in close collaboration with the parish priest. Fr, Paul Cullen,

The building is of modern design, with 6.000 square feet of floor space, When used as a church, it has a high altar and two side chapels, and when used for community activities, partitions can be used to separate off various activities.
