700 in procession

Walking in procession from the Friday Market Place, Bishop Beck last week led more than 700 members of the Catholic Women's League of the Brentwood diocese and some 35 priests on their annual pilgrimage to Walsingham.

Canon Gilbert, of Leigh-on-Sea, carried the Blessed Sacrament from the Slipper Chapel to the Meadow.

The Bishop urged the pilgrims to pray for world peace by saying the Rosary regularly and by taking part in Fr. Peyton's Family Rosary Crusade, due in the Brentwood diocese in July.
