St. Catherine's Church, Sheffield, will, this year, celebrate the diamond jubilee of the foundation of the parish, and in preparation for the religious celebrations a scheme for the beautification of the church is being carried out.

Marble Altar

The principal work includes the erection of a marble altar with baldachino, the lining of the apse with marble, the provision of the interior of the church.

The congregation have been actively engaged in raising the necessary funds during the past two years, but a large amount is still needed, and the parish priest, Rev. John White, is appealing to former parishioners and other sympathisers to help in the good work.
