Two outstanding vocal records are among this month's releases. Those to whom the superb soprano of Victoria de los Angeles is already well known will welcome a second record (DB6994) of this really magnificent voice. Victoria de los Angeles sings with the Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Walter Susskind Porgi Amor from the Marriage of Figaro (Mozart) and two arias from Manott (Massenet). The second record (DB21019) : Joan Hammond gives a moving and powerful rendering of the recitative and two arias from Act II of the Force of DeStiny (Verdi).

Columbia Among the chief releases by Columbia are two more Chopin records. Claudio Arau gives a thrilling interpretation of the Grande Polonaise (Op. 22) and a brilliant version of the popular Grande Valse No. I (LXI267-1268).
