.1s4gr. Bright, Auxiliary Bishop of Birmingham, who is one of an exceptionally large family. was the guestchairman of the Oxford section of the Union of Catholic Mothers at a Headington meeting on Mothering Sunday.

The Bishop wished all the mothers a happy feast day and conveyed the good wishes of the Archbishop, Mgr. Masterson.

He particularly asked the mothers to foster vocations to the priesthood.

He also asked them to pay special attention to isolated families-to get in touch with them and let them see that the Catholic Church cares for all throughout the world. Principal speakers were Mrs. Hugh Lee, national president of the U.C.M., Mrs. 0. Wainwright, Birmingham diocesan president, and Mrs. Gerard Feeny, the vice-president.
