Knights of St. Columba in North London begin a 24 hour-watch before the Blessed Sacrament today (Friday) as part of the continuous watch arranged by the K.S.C. order to cover every hour of the day and night throughout Holy Year.
Today's watch begins at 7 a.m., as the previous watch in Manchester by members of Council 104 ends. The new watchers belong to the Stamford Hill council.
They will be relieved, hour by hour, until 7 a.m. tomorrow, when the Stanley. Co. Durham Council 107 takes over.
Subsequent watches. each of 24 hours and beginning at 7 a.m., during the coming week are as follows March 26, Dartford Council; March 27, Burnley Council; March 28, Forest Gate Council; March 29, Chorley Council; March 30. Hounslow Council, The purpose is to pray for the Holy Father's intentions for the Holy Year.
It began on Christmas Eve in Glasgow, where the K.S.C. order was founded, and will end when the Holy Door is closed.
In addition every Knieht is expected to choose one hour during Holy Year for a personal visit to the Blessed Sacrament.
