Woodcutters to make passion play emblems

Seventy Oberammergau woodcutters have ben commissed to produce 30,000 small Passion Play emblems for visitors to the play this year.

The emblem combines the symbol of the Cross. painted red. blue or green, with the one of the Holy Shroud, painted white with a likeness of the heart. to indicate Christian charity. The heart is painted red.

The Oberammergau committee is receiving 200 letters a day with inquiries from almost every country of the world.

Reports that the B.B.C. is planning to televise the Play are unconfirmed. The Oberammergau committee is not favourable.
