Pursuit of happiness

is surprising to find your dramatic critic, W. J. Igoe, condemning "the pursuit of happiness" (the phrase used in the American Declaration) as "hedonism."

Every instructed Catholic knows that we must pursue happiness-it is a law of our nature-and that this is not the same as the pursuit of pleasure-hedonism.

I suspect Mr. Igoe of trying to find out if his readers were nodding.
