Alderman Morris Invited to Serve Again

Alderman Thomas Morris, Lord Mayor of York, has been invited to accept office for a second year.

A leading local Catholic, Alderman Morris for nearly half a century has been a prominent member and official of Cath olic Societies. In asking him to retain office for a further year the city council have assured him he has discharged his duties " to the entire satisfaction of all parties and denominations in the city."

He is the first Catholic to hold the Lord Mayoralty of York for nearly a hundred years.
