The new Anglican Bishop of Winchester, Dr Yohn Taylor, was one of the two main speakers at the eighth annual meeting last Saturday of the Portsmouth Catholic Diocesan Pastoral Council. The other was Mr Patrick Keegan, national secretary of the Catholic Family and Social Action organisation and a member of the Vatican's Cornmission for the Family. Bishop Worlock chaired the meeting. More than 250 delegates represented the deaneries and the 114 parishes of the diocese, besides representatives of Catholic organisations. The theme of the meeting was "Christians at Work," a topic which has been discussed throughout the diocese at parish lev0 over the past nine months. The role of women in the Church was also discussed at the meeting.
