Another Polish Bishop Arrested by Nazis

The Bishop of Lodz, Poland, Mgr.. Jasinski, his suffragan bishop and five canons were arrested on May 6. The bishop has been imprisoned at Saezewin, some twelve miles from Lodz, being kept in strict isolation from the outside world. He has been forbidden the use of his title or to issue any kind of instructions to his diocese and has been unable to appoint a vicai-gencial.

The fate of the suffragan bishop and the canons is not known. Three churches have been closed in Lodz by order of the German authorities, on the grounds that there are no off-16min priests,
