His Holiness Celebrates Mass

Friday last, the feast of St. Joseph, brought a deep consolation to the Holy Father. On that day, for the first time since the beginning of his long illness, Pius XI was able to say Mass.

His Holiness was not unduly fatigued by the celebration, which kept him at the altar for about twenty-five minutes.

As was mentioned last week. the Easter Mass at St. Peter's on Sunday, and the papal blessing Urbi et Orbi which will be given afterwards from a balcony of the basilica, are to be broadcast to the world on a wave-length of 19.84 metres.
