American Relief for Spanish Distress

From Our American Correspondent American opinion in regard to the Spanish situation is sharply divided. The Communist press, following the European example, is doing everything in their power to make the war appear a struggle between " democracy " and Fascism, and the American Catholic press is vigorously supporting the Nationalist cause.

The Brooklyn Tablet, at the request of Mgr. Molloy, has started a campaign to raise funds for the relief of Spanish Catholics. The fund is now approaching the 50,000 dollar mark. The money is being sent to Cardinal Segura at the Vatican, who in turn is to distribute it among the Bishops of Spain for the relief of the suffering.
