ASILLY question front Derek Hart in BBC's "Tonight" (May 18) prompts appraisal of interviewers and interviews, which is, after all, the basic business of TV and radio.

Hart demanded of that eccentric old curmudgeon, Lord Russell, "What do you feel like to be 90?" No one would dream of asking an old party this in everyday life because there really isn't any answer, in general terms, how anyone feels about their age. In an interview a question should demand some sort of reaction, denial, criticism, information.
