Social Progress Praised.
Though the Bishops have. for several years, been demanding the right to strike for the workers, and have brought considerable pressure to bear on the government for social improvement, they are not blind to the great upsurge in the national economy and the stablising of the national currency brought about by General Franco's Al a farewell reception in his honour, Cardinal Antoniutli has just testified to " the many things which have been done, in spite of the difficulties which Spain has had to face and endure and overcome, with the tenacity of her people and their virtues ".
He grieved over " skilful propaganda " which has even deprived Spain of " the love and esteem of some of her sons of the Church ". and saluted General Franco " who have watched, with admiration, carry out the hard task which he has imposed upon himself for the good of his country."
