Play About St. Elizabeth Of Hungary

Violet Clifton has written a part verse, part prose play of the life of St. Elizabeth of Hungary which will be performed for the Sunday first time by the Theatre on Sunday, December 4, at the Piccadilly. Miss s Clifton' play is called Sanctity. and the part of St. Elizabeth will be played by Marie Ney, and her husband Ludwig by Alec Clunes. The Sunday Theatre is a club for the presentation of plays which in the or s ganiser' own words " deal with human problems and will, without preaching, help humanity through the medium of the theatre." A second (and open to non-members) matinee performance of Sanctity will be given at the Piccadilly theatre on Monday, December 5. Dame Sybil Thorndike, the society's president, will attend and proceeds go to Czech refugees.
