We regret to record the death of Fr. Lea Holden. C.R.L., which occurred on Novemuer 16 in St. Joseph's Nursing Home, Hackney.

A native of Clitheroe, Fr. Holden entered the Noviciate of the Canons Regular of the Lateran at Bodtnin at an early age. In due course he was sent to complete his studies in Rome, where he was ordained priest in 1894 in St. John Lateran.

Fr. Holden's priestly career was spent in the parochial ministry in various parishes in charge of the Order. During the Great War he gave his services as Army Chaplain, chiefly in Salonica.

The last years of his life were devoted to parish work at Everingham, Yorks. As he was attached to the Community of Canons at Eltham, the Requiem Mass took place in Christ Church on Saturday,

November 19. The celebrant was the Right Reverend Abbot Smith; deacon, Fr. George Holden, brother of the deceased: and subdeacon, Fr. Leo Montgomery. The interment took place in the private cemetery within the priory grounds.
