The Hierarchy of Czechoslovakia which assembled recently to consider the import of the revision of frontiers in relation to the. Church, has issued a pastoral letter calling on the Czech people to remain faithful to the Church and to their country.

A meeting of the Sacred Congregation of Rites took place on November 15 in the Vatican. Two miracles obtained through Gernrna Galgani, whose cause is being examined, prefatory to canonisation, were discussed.

Two German bishops, Mgr. Gfollner, Bishop of Linz, and Mgr. Simon Landesdorfer, Bishop of Passau, have been received in private audience by the Pope.

The autonomous Government of Slovakia has decided to set up a Slovakian legation at the Vatican.

The President of the International Union of Catholic Women's organisations and the President of the Youth Movement were received in private audience by His Holiness Pius XI, who has greatly encouraged and blessed the work, also the programme of the Youth Congress, which will be held in Rome from April 11 to 14, 1939.

The second convent of the Carmelites in Czechoslovakia has just been opened at Brno. The only convent of the Order that has existed in Czechoslovakia up to the present is the one in Prague, founded in 1657.

The Hierarchy of Peru, at their annual conference expressed the hope that with the end of the Spanish Civil War a Eucharistic Congress for the whole of Spanish America will be held in Madrid.
