The Pope has appointed Cardinal Bruno, Prefect of the Sacred Congregation of the Council, in succession to the late Cardinal Marmaggi, who died on November 3. Cardinal Bruno, who is 74, was secretary to the Congregation before he was elevated to the College of Cardinals in 1946.
