New deacon for Arundel and Brighton

Former barrister John St Leger Brockman was ordained a deacon by Bishop Cormac Murphy O'Connor of Arundel and Brighton recently at St Joseph's Church, Epsom.

John, who was educated at Ampleforth College and Cambridge University, was called to the Bar in 1952. Since then he has worked for the DHSS and is currently Solicitor to the Deparments of Health and Social Security and to the Registrar General. He will join parish priests in liturgy and charity work, and intends to devote himself to his new role full time after he retires next year.
