Bishop Eugene Hornyak has been appointed by the Holy See as Apostolic Exarch for the Ukrainians in England and Wales and a suffragan bishop of Westminster. He succeeds the first Exarch, the late Cardinal Godfrey. Born in Yugoslavia in 1919, Eugene Hornyak was ordained in 1945. He was named a bishop in 1961 and deputed auxiliary to the Archbishop of Westminster.
