Meeting 'Not a failure' says Vienna Cardinal
ROME IS SILENT
CARDINAL KOENIG of Vienna is to pay another visit to Budapest in the near future but it is not known whether he will again visit Cardinal Mindszenty, whom he saw for four hours last Thursday.
The Viennese Cardinal is also expected to go to Warsaw soon to see Cardinal Wyszynski. These moves are interpreted as part of Pope John's efforts to reach a modus vivendi with the Communists.
A complete curtain of secrecy has been rung down over Cardinal Koenig's four-hour talks with Cardinal Mindszenty in the American Legation in Budapest. All that Cardinal Koenig would say about them was that they were "not a failure".
In Rome, Vatican circles have refused to make any comment on the " Mindszenty case " though Italian newspapers have been predicting that the Cardinal will shortly come to Rome.
