The Rev. Charles Jones leaves Tunbridge Wells to be assistant priest at the Borough; his place at Tunbridge Wells to be filled by the Rev. Patrick O'Brien from Shottermill.

The Rev. Laurence Ryan leaves Anerley to be assistant at St. Mary Magdalen's, Brighton; the Rev. Donald Young succeeds him as assistant at Ancrley.

The Rev. Jeremiah McCarthy, of Upper Norwood, goes to Rotherhithe as assistant, the Rev. Augustine Gillespie from Rotherhithe to the Sacred Heart, Hove, as assistant.

The Rev. Alexander North goes to Upper Norwood.

Other appointments to curacies are: The Rev. Thomas Lane to Deptford, the Rev. Paul Baker to Eastbourne, the Rev. Philip Mc-Guinness to West Croydon, and the Rev. Edward Mitchinson to Si. Peter's, Hove.

The Rev. John Lennon is going to Rome, the Rev. Gerard Furey to Cambridge, and the Rev. Edward Foos to Lille for higher St tidies,

Professions

Mgr. McNulty, Bishop. of Nottingham, was present at the ceremony of Reception and Religious Profession, marking the close of the annual Retreat at the Sacred Heart Convent, Mapperley Road, Nottingham.

Also present were Revv. C. Cossins, W. Casey, C. Gryce, and Fr. R. M. Carrington, S.J.. who had conducted the Retreat.

Relations and friends of the sisters came from Ireland and Scotland to assist at the ceremony.

Sister Marie Theresa, Miss Margaret :McQuade, received the habit; Sister M. Alphonsus (Comerford), Sister M. Beatrice (Callagha), Sister M. Doiorosa (Gardiner), Sister M. Bernardino (Comerford), M. Gabriel (Campion) pronounced Triennial Vows.

Sisters M. Consilio (Cosgrave) and M. Martha (Bowe) took Final Vows.

At the conclusion, Bishop McNulty celebrated 'Holy Mass and gave an oppropriate address, afterwards Benediction, and the Te Deurn brought the ceremony to a close.

Jubilee of Profession

On Sunday, August 21, the Feast of St. Joachim, father of Our Lady, was celebrated at the Convent of the Annunciade, St. Margaret's Bay, Kent, the Golden Jubilee of Religious Profession of Mother Mary of St. Paul of the Cross, Novice istress.

Holy Mass was celebrated by Canon Delpierre in the presence of numerous friends, including many members of the Order of Peace; the jubilarian renewed her religious vows. Appropriate motets were excellently rendered by the choir, and Canon Delpierre made a touching address. A second Mass was celebrated by a friend of the community, the Rev. T. Nobbs, of St. Francis de Sales, Tottenham.

Charitable Bequests

Miss Sylvinias Dolores Rose-lnnes, of Queen's Gate Terrace, S.W. (£11,373; net personalty £11.303) left £100 each to the Convent of the Good Shepherd, East Finchley, N.. and the Hospital of SS. John and Elizabeth, St. John's Wood, N.W.

A bequest under the will of Miss Mary Christina Roope, of Shanklin, Isle of Wight (£14.757; £14,128) is of £100 to the Hospital for the Dying. Mare Street, Hackney.
