Cardinal Feltin, Archbishop of Paris, urged Frenchmen who suffered at the hands of Germans during the occupation to remember their "Christian duty of forgiveness, which is the only way to inner peace," when he presided on Sunday at an afternoon Mass at Fresnes for war victims. Among those who knelt and prayed for those who died—and for those who caused their deaths—were General Weygand and the widows of General Leclerc and Marshal de Lattre de Tassigny.
