Led by a Catholic, Professor Louis M ass i gn on, a group of French Christians in Paris have observed a day of fast at the same time as Moslems who were at the end of Ramadan, the Moslem Lent.
They were members of a Christian committee, of w hich Professor Massignon is chairman, for an understanding between France and Islam. The special intention of the fast was the preservation of peace between Christians and Moslems in North Africa.
