CARDINAL HEENAN has a slight heart strain and has been told by his doctors to rest, He will not be undertaking any engagements for about a month but there is no cause for concern. No further bulletin will be issued.

In January, following an attack of influenza, his doctors advised him to reduce the number of his engagements.

Wood Hall priests meet bishops

THE steering committee set

up at the priests' conference at Wood Hall, Yorkshire, from June 1 to 5 met the standing committee of the Bishops' Conference of England and Wales —of which Cardinal Heenan is chairman—last Thursday.

The bishops' standing cornmittee warmly welcomed the co-operative and responsible attitude shown by • the priests' delegates at Wood Hall and promised to put the main resolutions, which they are confident will be accepted, to the next meeting of the bishops in October.
