The Bishop of Nottingham was the guest of honour, on Wednesday last week, at the annual dinner of the Chesterfield Council of the Knights of St. Columba. The Mayor of Chesterfield (Alderman H. Hatton) also was present. Previous to the dinner the Bishop received the guests and presented them to the Mayor.

In his speech responding to the toast of the Hierarchy and clergy, Mgr. McNulty referred to the coming promotion of the Archbishop of Westminster to the Cardinelate. It was proposed, he said, to send to Mgr. Hinsley a message of congratulation and loyalty from that gathering.

After the toasts had been honoured, Mr. 0. J. Tonics gave an address on "A Catholic Press."
