A French priest, referred to as Abbe Robert Aleche in news dispatches, had been charged by a French court of inquiry with causing the arrest of more than 800 French patriots by revealing to the Gestapo information obtained while hearing the confessions of political prisoners in Fresnes Prison. Cardinal Suhard, Archbishop of Paris, ha* iesued a formal statement denying that either the French Penitiary Administration or any reliaiotts authority.
