STUDENTS of the English
College, Lisbon, who lost most of their luggage when the " Hildebrand" went aground off the Portuguese Coast a few months ago, will now be able to replace most of their belongings thanks to all those people who contributed to the Hildebrand " Fund.
The President of the College, Mgr. James Canon Sullivan. has written to THE CATHOLIC HERALD to say that the fund totalled £904
• within a few shillings of the estimated loss.
Thanking contributors. Mgr. Sullivan writes: " I am sure too that parents and relatives of the students would want me to express their gratitude to all who have helped to relieve them of a terrible anxiety.
"Our Midnight Mass of Christmas will he sung for the intentions of the contributors to the fund, and through it all at the College will wish them a Merry Christmas and whatever blessings the Lord can bestow upon them."
