BROADCAST TO CHINA

Christmas message from England

CHINESE Salesian church students, now studying at Melehet Court, Hants, have for the first time ever broadcast a Christmas service to the Chinese behind the Bamboo Curtain.

The five students. all ordained deacons on December 21. four of them from Shanghai. one from }long Kong, recorded a 20-minute

programme under the direction of Fr. Agnellus Andrew, O.F.M., made up of passages from the Gospels, addresses, and hymns sung by English choirs.

Melchet Court is the international iheolugate of the Salesian Fathers. Ten more Chinese church students are expected to arrive there shortly.
