The Charlemagne prize, an award created in 1949 to encourage international understanding and European co-operation, will be awarded next year to M. Robert Schuman. it has been decided by the city of Aachen. Previous recipients include Sir Winston Churchill and Dr. Konrad Adenauer. the German Federal Chancellor.
