LEADERS of the nine major World religions are to have

a say on the work of the World Bank, Dr James D Wolfensohn, President of the World Bank, and the Archbishop of Canterbury announced last week.

The decision came after a two-day summit at Lambeth Palace. Religious leaders will collaborate with the World Bank on its Year 2000 development report, Understanding Poverty.

Cardinal Roger Etchegaray, President of the Pontifical council for justice and Peace flew to London from Rome for the meeting.
