HIERARCHY FOR ALASKA

AHIERARCHY has been estab lished for Alaska by the Holy Father's nomination of bishops for two new dioceses — Juneau and Yakima.

They are suffragan sees of the newly-created archdiocese of Seattle, in the State of Washington.

Seattle's Bishop, Mgr. Connolly, has been appointed Archbishop, Mgr. Dermot Flanagan. a priest of the Alaska vicariate, has been named Bishop of Juneau, and Mgr. Joseph Dougherty, chancellor of Seattle, Bishop of Yakima.

The Holy Father has also created two new dioceses in Canada. Mgr. Bruno Desrochers has been made Bishop of St. Anne de Pocatie. and Mgr. Emile Frenette, superior of the Quebec Seminary, Bishop of St. Jerome.
