MUNICH authorities have paid tribute to the memory of the late Cardinal von Faulhaber, Archbishop of Munich and Freising, who died only a fortnight ago, by giving his name to the street where he lived for 35 years. By unanimous vote the Munich municipal assembly decided to change the name of the street from "Promenadenstrasse" to "Kardinal von Faulhaberstrasse." The Cardinal's residence was located at No. 5, in the heart of the city. The Cardinal's passing brought many tributes to his memory from German leaders of varying political and religious beliefs.
Among those who sent messages of condolence to the Munich chancellory were Kurt Schumacher, head of the Socialist Party, and Christian Fette, executive director of the German Trade Union Federation.
