MGR. BERAN NAMED IN SPY TRIAL

Mgr.Josef Reran, Archbishop of Prague, was mentioned in a trial of o

priests and Catholic officials in Czechoslovakia in which two people were sentenced to death, according to the Prague Communist newspaper, Rude Pravo, reaching Vienna last week.

The paper said that Fr. Otto Madr, one of the accused at the trial which took place in Brno, was instructed by Mgr. Beran to obtain information as "a master spy."

This was the first time for more than six months that Mgr. Reran has been mentioned in a Prague newspaper.
