Papal Teaching On Just Revolution In March, 1937, the Holy Father issued the Apostolic Letter, Nos Es Muy, to the Mexican Hierarchy. Though short extracts, roughly translated, from the Letter were printed at the time in the CATHOLIC HERALD, the Pope's words were otherwise allowed to pass in this country almost unnoticed.
This Letter, however, is one of the most important of the present Pontificate since, among other matters, it gives the Church teaching on (i) The Relation of Catholic Action to Politics and Sociology. (ii) The conditions for Just Rebellion against a Constituted Authority.
The CATHOLIC HERALD, in conjunction with the Catholic Social Guild, has arranged for a special translation from the Spanish and Latin versions of the Letter.
EXTRACTS FROM THE LETTER BEARING ESPECIALLY UPON THE ABOVE TWO SUBJECTS WILL BE PRINTED NEXT WEEK 1N THE CATHOLIC HERALD.
Their importance in relation to the present disturbed state of Europe, of Spain, and the renewal of unrest in Mexico itself, is obvious.
The whole of the Letter will shortly be published by the Catholic Social Guild in pamphlet form.
