Film Institute approved by the Hierarchy

The Catholic Film Institute announces that the Hierarchy at their October meeting gave their formal approval to the institute as the official Catholic film centre in this country.

This means that in accordance with the wish of the Pontifical Film Commission, the Catholic film apostolate in this country has the Bishops' full support.

The institute's annual meeting is on Monday, December 14, at Brompton Oratory Hall. The second part, at 8 p.m.. is open to the public and will he presided over by Cardinal Griffin.

Films made by the French Dominicans for their television programmes will have their first British showing at the meeting.

These films have been seen by the Holy Father.

Mgr. Montini, Pro-Secretary of State, sent a letter conveying the Holy Father's "special blessing on an apostolate so well adapted to modern needs and conditions."
