LAST WEEK We reported that Eileen Shearer, director of the Catholic Office for the Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults (COPCA), earned an estimated annual salary of £80,000.
Archbishop Vincent Nichols of Birmingham would like to make it clear that Ms Shearer, in fact, receives between £50,000 and £60,000 a year, "commensurate with her position and wide-ranging responsibilities".
