BEQUESTS

A bequest of £50 has been made to the Bishop of Southwark "in memory of my kinsman Thomas Grant, first Bishop of Southwark," by the late Mrs. Rose Maul!, of Dublin.

Charitable bequests of Mgr. T. E. Bird, of the English Martyrs, Sparkhill, Birmingham, include £100 to the Venerable English College, and £105 to the Archbishop of Birmingham.

To mark the centenary of St. Mary's Church, Felton, Northumberland, Fr. John Bull sang High Mass in the presence of the Vicar General of the Hcxham and Newcastle diocese, Mgr. Canon John J. Cunningham. In his sermon, Fr. Hugh O'Connor, of St. Cecilia's, Sunderland, paid tribute to the Riddell family of Swinburne Castle, who built the church.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Croydon (Alderman and Mrs. A. V. Dammarell), opened the annual garden fete at the Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation. Addiscombe, on Saturday. The fete was held to raise funds for a new church hall.
