Plaid Cymru

Candidate

Mr. Victor Hampson Jones, head of the extra mural department of University College, Cardiff, and a bachelor of laws, has been nominated as Plaid Cymru candidate for Aberavon at the next General Election.

Mr. Jones is a convert Welsh speaking Welshman and the son of a chapel minister. He has taken an active part in the work of Y Cylch Catholig Cymreig in Maesteg and western Glamorgan. This is the first time a Catholic has been invited to stand as a Plaid Cymru candidate since Mr. Saunders Lewis was received into the church.
