PROBLEMS OF THE FAMILY International Paris Congress

The 15th Congress of the Christian Marriage Association will be held in Paris with special solemnity because of the exhibition from June 25 to June 27, The programme is exceptionally rich and the speakers of international reputation.

The subjects to be discussed are: Modern eugenic problems and their relations with family life, family education in preparation for marriage, role of the family in the economic crisis, and the problems of family limitation through periodic abstinence. The speakers include Dr. von Hildebrand, Fr. Gemelli and Fr. Fallon, S.J.

Director's Comment

Writing of the Congress, Mgr. Pizzardo. Director of Catholic Action in Rome, says: " Your coming Congress will certainly contribute very much (1) in drawing universal attention to this problem. which more than ever is of primary importance; (2) in spreading abroad the Pontifical teachings especially those contained in the Encyclicals Cacti Connubli and Divini Mims Magistri upon the essential points of Christian morality social life; (3) in co-ordinating the experience and the efforts of Catholics of all countries in the formation of Christian homes; (4) for the education of teachers and the instruction of young people before marriage.

" The Holy Father himself could not refrain from extending his best blessings to his magnificent programme of thought and action. He has fervent hopes for the success of these coming sessions of the Christian Family Congress which. without doubt will be blessed by every heavenly gift and grace. . . ."
