By BESS TWISTON DAVIES MEDJEGORJE DEVOTEES at the Seventh annual day of prayer and thanksgiving for Medjegorje at the Carmelite priory in Aylesford last Monday expressed concern that the TV crew present at the service could be producing a programme showing a negative interpretation of the proceedings.
Fr Wilfrid McGreal OC, the Shrine director at Aylesford said: "There were TV cameras there, but what they would have recorded is a lovely day of prayer and devotion. There was no emphasis on private revelation or on anything that the Church has not endorsed. The TV cameras may have been casting a critical eye over things, but the Church has nothing to fear from the truth."
But some of the pilgrims claimed to have seen distinctly the sun spin and pulsate during Mass at 4pm believers claim this happens frequently at Medjegorje.
One priest who claims he saw this said: " I'm very cynical about this kind of thin., I've been to Medjegorje three times and I've never seen this, and I'm very wary of mass hysteria, but I realised something was odd when I noticed I was looking into the sun without blinking. It was almost like there was a circular filter in front of the sun pulsating like a heartbeat. I have weak eyes and cannot look at the sun for long; an hour later when the sun was lower in the sky I could not look at it."
