GIFT TO THE POPE

TOKYO.

A Buddhist abbot has presented three paintings as a gift for His Holiness Pope Pius XII.

The donor is the Kojo Sakamoto, head of the Kiyoshi Ko-jin Buddhist sect. Dressed in his Buddhist robes and accompanied by two of his young monks, the abbot came from his temple to greet the Papal Legate, Cardinal Gilroy, and make the presentation during the resent Xavier fourth centennial celebrations.
