A RELIC FOR THE DOCTORS

Only one in England

DR. RICHARD KEATING, hon. secretary of the Merseyside branch of the Guild of St. Luke, SS. Cosmas and Damian-the doctors' guild—announced to the members at a meeting on Sunday in Liverpool the presentation to the branch of a relic of SS. Cosmas and Damian, the twin

doctors who suffered martyrdom in the year 303 under Diocletian.

This is believed to be the only relic of the two saints in this country. They have been the patron saints of doctors from the earliest times. Their feast day is September 27.

A reliquary is to be bought and the relic will then be entrusted to the chaplain of the branch.
