By Jo r .111.001,1S CHRISTIANS DO NOT read enough Christian books, according to the promoters of this year's Christian Book Festival, otherwise known as "Read For Your Life!"
The joint efforts of interdenominational Christian publishers and booksellers to spread the written word runs between May and June and, its organisers say, will explore "the value of reading and the importance placed on Christian hooks in our churches today".
They would also like to sell
more books and have sought the endorsement of leading
Christian writers.
Sheila Cassidy, Catholic author ofThe Good Friday People and The Loneliest Journey, told the Catholic Herald about her enthusiasm for the Festival.
"The reading of spiritual literature is integral to Christian discipleship," she said. "How else are we to feed our minds, inform our consciences and inspire our hearts?"
